In the last 35 years of amateur activity, I tried to take photo-graphs f the sky with different instruments arriving, at the end of the eighties (1989-90), at the present shape. It consists of:

* Flat Field Camera SCL 760/4 of the Lichtenknecker Optics with, in proximity of the focal plane, a mechanical lamellar shutter, with a film holder back in the size of 6x7 cm, realized magisterially by the brothers Rossi d'Ireneo engineer Silvano. By way of chronicle I wish to remember that the Lichtenknecker Optics is the same Flemish factory that built for Hans Vehrenberg the mirrors for his celebrated Cameras Schmidt by with, then, he realized his famous photographic atlas. In particular: the Atlas of the Deep Sky Splendors, the Falkauer Atlas, the Atlas Stellarum, the Atlas of Selected Regions and the magnificent Atlas of Galactic Nebulae.

 
 

Negli ultimi 35 anni di attività amatoriale ho provato a fotografare il cielo con diversi strumenti giungendo, alla fine degli anni '80 (1989-90), all'attuale configurazione. Essa consiste di:

* Flat Field Camera SCL 760/4 della Lichtenknecker Optics con, in prossimità del piano focale, un otturatore lamellare meccanico con dorso porta pellicole nel formato di 6x7cm, realizzato dai Fr.lli Rossi d'Ireneo ing. Silvano. A titolo di cronaca desidero ricordare che la Lichtenknecker Optics è la stessa fabbrica fiamminga che costruì ad Hans Vehrenberg gli specchi per le sue celebri Camere Schmidt con cui poi egli stesso realizzò i suoi famosi atlanti foto-grafici. In particolare: l'Atlas Of The Deep Sky Splendors, il Falkauer Atlas, l'Atlas Stellarum, l'Atlas Of Selected Regions e il magnifico Atlas Of Galactic Nebulae.

La Flat Field Camera (F.F.C.) è un telescopio concentrico aplanatico con specchi a fuoco esterno, molto luminoso particolarmente indicato per la fotografia astronomica a lunga esposizione.Si tratta di un telescopio non comune in cui l'immagine ottica che viene a formarsi sul piano focale, oltre a risultare corretta è anche perfettamente piana per una circonferenza, di piena luce, pari a 60mm, corrispondenti ad un campo apparente di oltre 4°. La configurazione ottica consiste. essenzialmente di tre elementi ottici in vetro Duran 50 a basso coefficiente di dilatazione. Seguendo il percorso ottico della luce troviamo: una lastra correttrice asferica; uno specchio primario sferico e uno specchio secondario convesso di grandi dimensioni; a metà percorso fra la lastra e il secondario c'è un diaframma opaco circolare.

The optical configuration consists, essentially of three optical elements in glass Duran 50 at low coefficient of expansion. Following the optical light path we find: aspherical corrective plate; a primary spherical mirror and a secondary convex mirror of great dimentions; halfway between the plate and the secondary there is an opaque circular diaphragm. La lavorazione delle ottiche è par-ticolarmente curata e spinta: in ot-time condizioni generali è stato possibile registrare sull'emulsione fotografica dischi stellari con di-mensioni nell'ordine dei 10-12 mi-cron. Il telaio meccanico della F.F.C a sostegno degli specchi è all'al-tezza. della .qualità. delle.. ottiche

with dimension of about 10-12 microns. The mechanical frame of the F.F.C. supporting the mirrors is up to the quality of the optics, which together contribute to maintain a constant and unaltered dimensional structure of the star-diffraction image also at the different wavelenghts, such as, for example the ones of 6563, 5461 and 4358 Angstrom that underline the total cromatic correc-tion of the instrument. These characteristics are also reached thanks to the use of alloys of Iron and Nickel at low Carbon content (63.8Fe; 36Ni; 0,2C) used for the realization of the cells and of the three spaces bars of the mirrors, conferring to Flat Field Camera both the total registration of the optics, and an exellent mechanical and above all great thermal stability. The tube of the F.F.C. is made of a substance artificial called GEAX.

* Achromatic refractor 1000/9,8 used as guidescope for the F.F.C. it can be pointed up to 10° from the primary instrument, is fixed at the apposite side of the counterweight bar, to avoid the unba-

  
 
che insieme contribuiscono a mantenere un costante e inalterato assetto dimensionale dell'immagine di diffrazione stellare sul piano focale anche alle diverse lunghezze d'onda quali, per esempio, quelle di 6563, 5461 e 4358 Angstrom che sottolineano specificamente la totale correzione cromatica dello strumento. Queste caratteristiche sono anche raggiunte grazie all'impiego di leghe in Ferro e Nichel a basso tenore di Carbonio (63.8Fe; 36Ni; 0,2C) usate per la realizzazione delle celle, del diaframma e delle tre barre distanziatrici degli specchi, conferendo alla FFC sia una completa registrazione delle ottiche, sia un'ottima tenuta e sia soprattutto una grande stabilità termica. Il tubo è realizzato con una sostanza artificiale chiamata GEAX spessa 5mm.

longitudinale. Per le riprese a grande campo vengono impiegate normal-mente fotocamere a medio e grande formato (tipicamente 6x7 o 10x12cm), arrivando qualche volta ad usare anche il 20x25cm. Queste fotocamere vengono posizionate tramite una particolare staffa in duralluminio, coas-siale all'asse dei contrappesi.
 
* Apochromatic refractor Pentax SDUF II 400f/4, bought in 2005 used as guidescope for the shots wide field together with all the available cameras and for the shots to middle field, ccd and film. The optic projiect traces the schema Petzval, 4 lenses in 2 groups, mounted on in only one cell detachable unscrewing the lens screen. All optical surfaces feature the Pentax SMC multi-layer coating. Colour correc-tion is very good considering its extreme focal ratio of f/4.0. The front lens of the doublet objective is made of SD glass. The focuser of the Pentax 100 SDUF-II is a helical focuser. The free diameter of this focuser is 84mm.A scale on the focuser allows setting with a precision of 0.02mm or better.

  
 

* Rifrattore Apocromatico Pentax SDUF II 400/4, acquistato nel 2005 viene impiegato come guida per riprese widefield, insieme a tutte le fotocamere disponibili e per riprese a campo medio, sia ccd, sia pellicola. Lo schema ottico ricalca il progetto Petzvall, 4 lenti in 2 gruppi, montate in una unica cella smontabile svitando il paraluce. Le lenti presentano il trattamento Pentax SMC un rivestimento multistrato. La cor-rezione cromatica è buona considerando il rapporto molto spinto. La lente frontale è un doppietto in vetro SD. Il fo-cheggiatore del Pentax è elicoidale, con diametro interno pari a 84mm, permette di raggiungere una buona precisione (0.02mm) dato che il focheggiatore è munito di una scala micrometrica.

     
 
 
Nel gennaio 2007 è entrata a far parte degli stru-menti in dotazione la montatura equatoriale GM 2000 QCI ultraportable della 10Micron. Prodotta quasi interamente in Italia, presenta spiccate doti di robustezza e precisione meccanica, mantenendo ancora una discreta trasportabilità. La montatura sostiutuisce la Losmandy G11. La GM2000 unita al buon cavalletto Centaurus presenta diverse carat-teristiche interessanti ... [continua]
 
     
A metà febbraio 2008, quindi circa un anno dopo la GM2000 e a guardar bene, dopo la bellezza di 19 anni (!), dall'ultimo nuovo telescopio, con l'esclusione del piccolo Pentax SDUFII, è arrivata la BRC250 Takahashi. Riflettore in configurazione ottica definita: Baker Ritchey Chrétien di 250mm di apertura libera, aperta f/5
