It features a Ritchey-Chrétien optical design with a focal length of F= 714 cm, a 72 cm primary mirror, and a secondary mirror of approximately 19 cm. A CCD detector, with a resolution of 1024x1024 pixels, is mounted at its focal plane for optical-band observations. Since 2012, the telescope has been enabled for remote observations and is employed both for scientific research and educational outreach. In the photograph, the Director of the Abruzzo Astronomical Observatory, Dr. Mauro Dolci, is also depicted on the right.
